TDI Intro to Tech

Course Information

The TDI Intro to Tech Course is designed for divers who are eager to expand their diving capabilities into the technical realm. This course introduces participants to fundamental technical diving concepts and practices, preparing them for more advanced training in the future. Key components of the course include a focus on the use of technical diving equipment, dive planning, and an understanding of the risks associated with technical diving. This course will expand on your general diving skills such as buoyancy, trim and situational awareness and communication.

Prerequisites: 15 years old, Open Water Diver, 25 dives

Upon completion, divers will possess a foundational understanding of technical diving principles, the ability to plan and conduct dives using technical equipment, and the skills to mitigate risks associated with deeper dives. This course sets the stage for more advanced technical diving adventures.

  1. Theoretical Knowledge:
    • Overview of technical diving principles and the differences from recreational diving.
    • Introduction to dive planning, including depth, gas management, and contingency procedures.
    • Understanding of the physiological effects of deeper dives and the importance of risk assessment.

    • Hands-on training with technical diving equipment, including twinsets.
    • Emergency procedures and scenarios specific to technical diving situations.
  3. Diving Experience:
    • A series of supervised dives that focus on applying technical diving skills in real-world conditions.

    • Emphasis on teamwork and communication during dives to enhance safety.
  4. Certification:
    • Successful completion of the course results in a TDI Intro to Tech certification, enabling divers to participate in further technical diving training.

Our Dive Centre is located near Leeds, West Yorkshire, just a few minutes from Junction 27 off the M62. All our pool sessions are completed in our private onsite, purpose built heated pool. Our classroom facilities provide everything you need to complete all aspects of your course theory.
